Tribune All-Area Team 2008
Re: Tribune All-Area Team 2008
I'll definitely agree with that. I watched a couple of BC games that year, and I think I saw him drop more passes than he actually caught. But the thing is, you can teach a kid to catch. You can't teach a kid to be 6'7". Just because a guy's a better HS player doesn't mean that he's a better college prospect.

Okay lakerfan, I know you are younger than some of the more seasoned haters on here and usually rational but let's look at context & see what is going on here! First of all this is a thread on All Area team...you know how hard kids work and then to have a successful year & garner an award like 1st team all state that should be applauded...i don't care if you're from Ferndale, fh or Johnstown!! now let's look at part of your post:
I NEVER SAID RUGG WAS BETTER THAN McCARTY OR ANYONE....but one of your pin-head, hating, boiz, who did see Rugg in a scrimmage, is such an astute observer of line play that he claims Rugg "woul be laying on his back side.", if they met?? What is the agenda here?? Pretty obvious there lakerfan & pretty pitiful.lakersfan24 wrote:Vman, just because Rugg is getting looked at by ND and etc. does not make him better than McCarty.

My point was that getting recruited by colleges doesn't directly reflect how good a player is, and the same goes for awards. I agree Vman, there's no way anyone would flatten Rugg. I was simply commenting on your ND comment. The attack on FH's schedule was also unnecessary. He did have a point, Laurel Valley and Portage would be lucky to be .500 in the LHAC, and those are single A PLAYOFF teams..

don't forget, this WAS a thread on kids that made all area & it's turned into anti BM rubbish AGAIN.....I was just responding!AmusedChatter wrote: And I am sorry not everyone gets to play Laurel Valley and Portage in the playoffs.

Amused was simply making the argument that Rugg wasn't the best lineman after someone stated he was.

Thank you Lakers for simply putting it for the people who can not comprehend what I was getting at.
And people say that parents pay for their children go to McCort to get a better education.....Ya Right

Oh I get it now, I couldn't comprehend that McCarty could knock Rugg on his back side...... then a McCort educational dig; you are consistently pitiful Confused!

"Keklak got overlooked BIG TIME. I wish that the T-D would have placed WH's Tight End Mike Valcheff on the 1st Team instead of 2nd.MccortD6Champs wrote:didnt produce all year.. wheres isa

Isa and Laquinn both made honorable mention on the all area team. but that is a false Laquinn is prolly going to go to college on a scholarship (no less than DII) and so will Isa Wadley. A lot of first team all area members even with good numbers will be lucky to go to college with a scholly to a DII school or above.

luckily highschool success and awards aren't measured by what's done AFTER highschool..
