Thanks for the information WPInheAdL-toddler but for some reason I feel that I have seen this information before. You need a new act my man.

Hey it was good to see Penn State win the NIT and hopefully this will turn the corner for the program and make the NCAA on a regular basis.

...How important is the NIT? Just look at the time the game came on TV and it will tell you. Whenever an important sports contest comes on TV on a weeknight, such as the World Series, the NCAA basketball finals, the NCAA football championship bowl game, you will never see it televised BEFORE 8PM. many of them are even seen at 9PM. And WHY? Because the later the contest is televised, the MORE people will see it.
...Go back to the NIT championship Thursday night. The game came on at 7PM eastern time. WHO didn't see it? How about everyone in the Pacific and Mountain time zones? And it was only 6PM in the Midwest when the tip-off occurred, and by the time people tuned into ESPN later, who really cared? ESPN is in the market to make money. If the NIT was that important, wouldn't they have televised it later so the entire continental U.S. could see it? At 7PM eastern, it is 4 o'clock on the west coast. These people are still at work and could care less about some basketball game on TV, championship or not. And in Denver, no one is rushing home at 5 to see some B-Ball game, no matter how important it is. So ESPN made the decision that the only market for the game was in the East, and they wanted to put it on early enough so viewers would still be up at 9 o'clock. Starting later, and lots of viewers in the east wouldn't stay up to see most of the second half. Guess the guys at ESPN know what they're doing. Oh, and by the way, what did ESPN put on at 9PM last night? How about the 21st Annual Collegiate Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championship on tape-delay from Auburn Hills, Michigan. Seen all across the USA, that's how you get ratings.

If Major League Baseball had started when it normally does, I would not have even watched an NIT game like every other year. Good for PSU, though. Maybe they will actually turn that program around, but If I was a PSU fan, I wouldn't set the goals too high. You'll be very lucky to make the NIT next year.

Penn State deserved to be in the NIT, just like all the teams deserved to be in the 64. Out of all the teams that were in the same classification as Penn State, Penn State proved themselves to be the best. They beat at least 3 teams that I thought would defeat them. Out of the 250+ teams left out of the tourney, PSU was the best in basketball. Compared to status quo up there, that's huge news. I have always said that as a fan all you can do is be happy if the team is making progress and not regressing or laying stagnant. They just landed their first ever 4-star recruit. The team is traditionally an after-thought. There was quite a lot of progress made this season, and as a fan, you can't ask for anything more than that. Things take time unless you hire some hotshot who can recruit top players immediately. I'm happy with this season, actually, very happy. We'll see where they go from here. Are they the 66th best team in the country? The way they played at the end, I'd say they're probably about 30-35-40th.
