Penn State walk-on QBs
Check it, dudes and dudettes:
1. Steven Hill from Colleyville HS is listed on the roster. Colleyville is less than 2 miles from my place. Hill had a good season in 2008, and someone down here told me there was a local kid walking-on at PSU and I thought they were just trying to screw with me.
2. Scott McGregor from Central Cambria. Kid looked way more poised than I would have figured, in the Blue and White game. From what I heard, McGregor is looking good.
3. Matt McGloin from West Scranton was battling with Newsome for the backup QB spot. I think we all know that competition was a little loaded, judging by them persuading Newsome to come to PSU to be the immediate backup. McGloin actually has a cannon, and was also impressive in the scrimmage. He threw for 3,000 yards in his Sr year I think, and has run an open attack. Well, he earned a full scholarship for this season, which I love. I honestly think Penn State is one of the top (if not THE top) program in the nation where a walk-on legitimately has the chance to earn a full scholarship and has a legit shot at proving himself for playing time. There have been a lot of hardworking kids over the years that Paterno has brought in that have earned scholarships and starting roles over kids much more highly regarded in the recruiting world. There's a bit of a lack of freedom with scholarship offers right now, so McGloin impressing them that much is a big deal.

Newsome, Jones, Bolden, and add the ones you listed.... should make for an interesting QB battle once Clark is gone, especially for the #2 spot.
