nice addition to that post.

The rams obviously need to work on some form tackling and do some live drills. Also, one of the best things that teams do to get better throughout the season IMO is to have solid scout teams. Richland should really try to have energetic scout offenses and defenses so the starters can get positive work stopping the run and bettering their own inconsistent rushing attack. I have heard McCort does have good scout team and do indeed go live from time to time; unsure of how much of this Richland does, but obviously not much against a good runner/line. Will be interesting to see if richland can stop the run against somerset, usually have a tough time stopping their attack. As a taxpayer, I am hoping smitty and company fix that Defense up and improve. No one is satisfied having a "winning" season anymore, especially in a year when not too many teams are that skilled it appears.
Re: Westy Vs. Crushers
The Lions have a much better chance of beating the Steelers this week then Westy does toppling the Crushers.
McCort-45
Westy-0
My prediction Salem calls off the dogs at around 38-0 or so and the jv punches on in.

Re: Westy Vs. Crushers
Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't Richland run the offense they do because of their undersized line, decent athletes at the WR pos. and a good run of QBs? How on earth will they field a "scout team" if their starters are not big enough to form a "running-game" line?pats39 wrote:The rams obviously need to work on some form tackling and do some live drills. "No one is satisfied having a "winning" season anymore, especially in a year when not too many teams are that skilled it appears" - Nice school, nice field, nice QBs as of late, no offense but all Richland has is offense and until they get some big boys to play D-Line, career days will continue to pile up, along with early exits in the playoffs...
Mind you, I am not bashing Richland at all, just saying that Pecora and Co were a darn good team and lost first round of the playoffs (P.O was one heck of a team too!) and unless they play some "D", this could be a continual trend...
Re: Westy Vs. Crushers
as you have stated before and people have proven, you do not need to be 6-3 280 to be an above average offensive linemen in the LHACK

I think you should "suit up" this week and show the Rams how to play "D".

What does being a taxpayer have anything to do with Richland Football. Everyone is a taxpayer in some way or another. That being said, if I were Smitty, I would personally invite you to practice. As a matter of fact, I would pay to see you "GO" against Smitty.
The problem with fair weather/band wagon fans like you is it wasn't that long ago that people in Richland were hoping for a win now people like YOU expect it.
Enjoy what you have and thank the guy above you have coaches who not only know the game of football but also have the safety of the players formost.

Wallpaper, good point, it is kind of nice to be able to say that the people in Richland expect to win now instead of praying for a 1-8 season.

Re: Westy Vs. Crushers
McCorts going to come out of the gates unprepared and flustered as usual. The HIlltopper's stellar offense will dominate the Crusher's inexperienced defense in order to get the first score of many for the HIlltoppers. The then lackluster Crusher offense will attempt to run the ball while being stuffed over and over again by the Westmont defense who have proven themselves against opponents such as Penn Cambria, Johnstown, and Somerset. The Crushers' student section will be dead silent as usual, as they have nothing to cheer about due to the lack of star caliber talent on the McCort squad. Westy goes up big in the first half, putting up 42 points, and sending the JV in to further punish the god awful McCort rush defense. Westmont will then grab another 27 points before taking a kneel down because it's the "classy" thing to do. Final score: Westmont-69 Bishop McCort-4.
