Recruiting is not a bad thing for McCort. After all, it is a school that requires funds from the students to meet the needs of their school. They need to offer "extras" in order to attract students to their school. "Extras" include things like better athletics, smaller class sizes, better facilities. Post High School education is also something people pay for and they have the same issues. Colleges and Universities specialize in programs and "recruit" students, as well. It is not a bad thing to admit you recruit. However, what gives McCort the bad name is when they get students from these schools and shove it down the school face about how inferior they are. I like to see private schools have success but at the same time don't point out the faults with the public schools.

Not to take anything away from the recruiting talk, but I just happened to read the new Phil Cmor article. I about spit out my coffee when I read what Georgiana said.

"I don't know what other people think. People in our community have been supportive [of our decision to enter],'' Georgiana said. "They [the players] have earned it."

WHAT? Earned it? If going 3-6 is earning it these days something is wrong in the water over in Altoona.

Lastly, Ken Salem likes to rub it in on people. That won't get you to many fans either. How many teams would take a knee up 12pts w/ 30 seconds left in game? Probably most. Not Kenny boy. He pounds one in on Jtown. I watched Johnstown take a knee against Westmont earlier this year up 15 points in the same situation.

Lastly, I think if the McCort supporters actually swallowed some pride and said yes, we do have an advantage over these public schools but we are still playing within the rules of the piaa, I think you would have a few more people defending you. But when you try and insult our dumb public-educated intelligence by saying "what advantage?" then things will continue to be that way.
You r stupid dude and have an obvious inferiority complex Your AAA trojans got to cry about losing too MCCort for like the 12 th time in last 13 years.

Do u see the catholic grades schhools closing n shrinking? where do u get neighboring districts? MCCort doesnt have a district Einstein n as more schools close they will be taking more 9 th graders from "other" school districts.

By the Way I know for a fact it was Johnstown people turned in their ex-volunteer asssitant track coach for petty, pay back reasons

Oh yea I want to cry to, Johnstown a AAA school plays most A & some AA schools n they have way more speed than the other schools how can these little neighborhood schools compete with the big city school and all that speed? Speed is an unfair advantage ADMIT IT. No matter how u try to spin it a AAA school that got embarrased weekly playing at level -AAA- has an unfair advantage --oh wait they underachieve every year still playing all smaller slower teams so their adult fans have to cry HAHA

ps not one Jouhnstown player would cry or make excuses like some adult followers, they leave that up to U

This use to be a good site. What happened? You guys don"t have a clue about anything. This is not sports talk anymore. Bunch of cyberthugs here now. The PIAA makes the rules, if you have problems with rules, contact them. Well, I guess it's easier to bash people on your keyboard. Anyways, playoff football, you got to love it. Good luck to ALL teams.

You're right, I R stupid.

It's I want to cry too, not "I want to cry to". I went to a public school and I know that!

I think I made valid points and stated I root for McCort kids and you have nothing but personal attacks. Way to make a good argument.

By the way, why do you say Johnstown has "all that speed?" What does that mean? McCort looked way faster to me than Johnstown did.

All this talk about the Bishop Attracters stinks.. Talk about the games.

#4 United
#13 Bishop Guilfoyle

Give me BG. They've played better teams and would have a better record if they were playing the teams United plays each week. I don't want them to win though.

#5 Penns Manor
#12 Homer-Center

Penns Manor by at least two scores.

#6 Marion Center
#11 Juniata Valley

Juniata Valley has been playing well of late. They were able to hang with Bellwood. I don't know anything about Marion Center, but I'm still taking them. I know JV is playing better, but I don't think they beat the higher seed in this one.

#7 Blacklick Valley
#10 Glendale

These two scrimmage each other. So they know who can run and pass and all that stuff. I like Glendale in this one.

#8 Mo Valley
#9 Mount Union

This is a fine matchup. Mount Union can stop Mo Valley's run game. Mo Valley can stop Mount Union's run game. Take the under. I'm going with Mount Union in a close one, 20-19.

See ya in round 2!

Anyone read the article entitled "Nanty Glow" in today's Tribune Football Extra? The sub-title "Community Is Abuzz Over Blacklick Valley's first home playoff game" said it all. "You stop in the local Foodland, wherever you go, everybody wants to talk football", coach Bill Zamboni said. "The people of Nanty-Glo are absolutely ready (for the game). I can't even describe how excited they are". Now that, my friends, is community.
