Phil Grosz on the Possible BCS Game...

Post by The Ancient Enemy »

Besides the BCS Championship Game the BCS has no say in the matter which at-large team the Orange, Sugar or Fiesta Bowl selects, it is done solely by each bowl selection committee.

If Penn State defeats Michigan State on Saturday and has a top 14 BCS ranking, I've been told there is a 95-percent probability Penn State will be playing in a BCS Bowl Game and the most likely place will be against the ACC champ in the Orange Bowl in Miami on Jan. 5.

I'll be speaking with Orange, Sugar and Fiesta Bowl committee members this week and will keep you informed here in the Lions Den.

The crazy thing is that PSU's front 7 might match-up better against GTech than against those other BCS teams.

no only will they match up better TAE, but GT doesn't have that much of a passing attack so your buddy Astorino will have to do less covering than he already doesn't..er, I mean does. Plus, tech tries to run mostly laterally with the option so you won't have to worry too much about them running up the middle past Hull. Tech's offense is good in the regular season, but if you watched their bowl game last year against LSU any team with quickness on the outside who can maintain their lanes can slow them down. And PSU actually has that with Crawford, Lee, and Bowman.
