Please prove to us where there standards are lower. Documentation from the universities themselves, please. You are a journalist,..do some investigating. Wedderbum and others were shaky at best before entering psu. Curtis Enis I think went to a prep school. And a few years back they recruited a kid at WR or CB with a shaky background. Dont remember his name just the incident. And besides do you think psu will advertise a kids background if they are problems? They have been many and I am sure like everything else joe kept it hush hush. Joepas forte is giving kids 2nd chances!

Again I say to TAE - Lewis went to prep school and so did D Clark. Documentation on how that is different.

Admissions standards for the general population at both schools are virtually the same, with Pitt-main being ranked a bit higher than PSU-main in terms of average SAT scores (Pitt ranks 78th in the US, while PSU comes in at 88th, source: http://www.satscores.us) of incoming frosh and rigor of admisions (Pitt admits 55% of all applicants while PSU admits 58%.)

Don't say PSU's admissions standards are significantly higher than PSU because they are NOT, as a matter of fact, they're less rigorous than Pitt's based on the measures I mention.

JoePa has relaxed the standards for a few DClarks and Wedderburns...Funny how PSU all of a sudden becomes "too difficult tio get admitted to" when Shady McCoy tells them to hit the pike. "He wasn't smart enough to get in; we didn't want him anyway" becomes the mantra of he brainwashed cult.

I guess next we will hear that psu doesnt give their athletes preferential treatment when it comes to scheduling, eating, or dorm room arrangements like all other big time schools do?

Everytime a kid turns down psu and goes to Pitt doesn't mean Pitt's standards are lower. Or when psu backs off a kid because they found a better kid at a certain position doesn't mean their admissions are better. It happens all the time in college sports and the recruiting process. Kids change their minds.....schools back off kids for a million reasons.

A prep school kid (regardless of what prep school) obviously isn't the best student. psu has had them and so has Pitt. It doesn't get anymore black and white than that. The two latest were D Clark and Lewis. One went to psu and one to Pitt.

When you can show some documentation from each school showing Pitts athletic admissions are worse than psu's then you win. Until then.......

hahaha, the fact that you know of the Broad Top Bulletin makes this point even funnier.

I once heard a story that someone in the Saxton area that submits articles to the Broad Top Bulletin was using that newspaper to get a press pass to PSU games. The university eventually found out the BTB doesn't even have a sports page and was only a once a week paper so they pulled his press passes. I guess he was doing this for years.

I got a new one for ya Moldo. You may have to do a little research because I'm haven't been bothering to read the articles but a Professor at PSU with the last name Mann is under investigation for the newest climategate scandal. Don't quote me on this but I guess he was fabricating information to change people concepts of global climate change.
