There is a lot I could say about the match, but I'll keep it short. One thing I dislike about dual meets is the amount of stalling that occurs. I understand the kids are out there for their team, trying to not get pinned or give up bonus points, but I don't like seeing kids stall stall stall instead of trying to win. The officiating was a tad shaky, but it didn't affect the final outcome. One stalling call that really bothered me was in the Easter match. Ross Hershberger is a first year wrestler who was doing EVERYTHING he possibly could to get off the bottom against an outstanding kid in Easter, but just couldn't make anything happen because Easter is just that much better, and Hershberger gets hit with stalling. There were many occations in other matches where stalling could have and should have been called (on both teams) and it wasn't.

One thing I would expect NB to do different in district duals would be to send Replogle at 112 and try to trade 6 for 6. If it would have worked out that way tonight the final would have been 33-33 and NB wins on criteria. But all in all there was good wrestling and both sides wrestled hard.

I agree and stalling is a tough thing to call. Some times the only way an inexperienced wrestler can compete is to slow it down a bit. The officiating was not the best, that is for sure, but thank goodness I don't feel it affected the final score. Great meet and two solid teams that will meet again.

My opinions on the match.

Ref really wasn't that bad in my opinion. No real controversial calls. He didn't call stalling much but he didn't call it either way. The wrestling itself wasn't real great in most matches either way. I was suprised with how out of shape some NBC wrestlers seemed to be. They could have gotten bonus points in some matches I think but ran out of gas.

Stalling- seems to be what most people are hitting on about this match. The boy easter wrestled literally tucked his elbows under his body and Easter was very active on top looking for pinning combinations. That will get stalling calls when the top guy gets out to the side and looks for pins. Bedford kids weren't real impressive off the bottom either but at 189 and 215 in paticular neither of the NBC kids looked for 1 pinning combination the entire match. If you ride parallel you won't get stalling calls on the bottom man.

Bedford won because their kids worked for and got falls. The NBC kids didn't many bonus points. I also think coach clark made a mistake wrestling who he did at 103 and 112.
Overall this match came down to a few small things that could change the outcome the next time around.

I was really suprised with how dominate Gibbons and Maust looked over 2 pretty good wrestlers from NBC. I also thought the 152 pounder from NBC looked real good.
