Rushel Shell will prove TAE a genius.

Hopewell RB Shell, who will definitely, definitely be a top 50 player for the 2012 class, has now transferred to Aliquippa. Why, you ask??? Because Shell is a character issue who has already been suspended and in trouble. Interestingly enough, PSU is still showing some interest but has backed off. How much do you want to bet that this kid ends up at Pitt, even when he'll have other BCS offers bigger than Pitt?

I see PSU just got a commit from Shyquawn Pullium (Erie, PA)...Weren't you blasting his acdemic record on here awhile back, saying he wouldn't qualify and wasn't "Penn State Material"?

Didn't you call this one a few months in advance???

Nice try, meathead.

I told you that PSU wanted to see his next set of grades before offering. Then I said that Pitt was blowing up his phone telling him he was already accepted.

This is a kid who had an average junior year and a huge senior year. Because of the recruiting preocess nowadays, kids who "blossom" in their senior year are often overlooked. He ended up being player of the year in his district.

One thing that I find interesting is the "fan vote" on Rivals now. Fans say he's a 4-star player, Rivals evaluators say he's a 3-star. It works both ways, though. There's kids listed as 4-stars who fans say is only a 3. Take it with a grain of salt, just like the evaluators' opinions.

Likely story, TAE. Do you like Cherry or Fruit Punch?

totally unrelated question TAE, but what school do you think does the best with the worst recruting classes. IE teams that recrutiing is barely in the top 100 yet end up in the 30s 40s or below regularly?

Who said we never lost a recruit?

That's a good question, Pats. Let's go though it by conference.

ACC: Wake Forest
SEC: I dont know, they are all rated highly. Vanderbilt has been competitive, so lets say Vandy.
Pac-10: Oregon State
Big East: UCONN
Big Ten: I would probably say Iowa. But a year from now we'll be saying Northwestern.
Big XII: Probably Texas Tech.

I would say that you can make a case for Oregon State, Wake Forest, and UCONN, overall. I'd almost have to say Oregon State, though.
