Re: Thomas Tournament
You gotta feel for levi hosselrode. The match that all of bleachercoaches has been anticipating betweeen hosselrode and maust ended in familiar fashion, hosselrode injury defaulting with a 3-2 lead. This kid can't seem to catch a break on the mat the past two years. Hopefully it isn't serious.
Some other things from the first day...
The 112 pounder from tri valley looked like a beast, can't remember his name.
Aungst is a pinning machine. When he gets on top he isn't looking to ride you, he's looking to hurt you then pin you. He's the nastiest wrestler I've seen in a while. With his skill set he is never out of a match.
I don't think Tarley will be able to hang with Rizzo. Rizzo has all the tools and will be a state champ at some point by the time he graduates (he's a soph).
Is Nick Roberts trying to set some kind of pin record? Sometimes you see kids go out and look for techs just to get some work in, almost like they are out there just to drill. Not Roberts. Everytime I've seen him this year he's looking for and gotten the pin asap.
Dibert wrestled a nice match against Gibbons last night, looked pretty sharp...
Northern Bedford is not a good tournament team. They have a team full of above average wrestlers, great for dual meets, not so much for tournaments. Going 2-8 in the quarters isn't going to get it done. One thing I will say is they got some bad matchups in that round, always ran into real tough kids (roberts, lascari, easter, aungst, guidi, rizzo were some of nb's opponents in that round). Maybe its because they're so young, I don't know...
I haven't seen the team standings going into today, but Bedford will be tough to beat.
