The Bedford County Media Bias is Unreal!!!!

Ok, i know that this was a hot topic on Cement Job last year and I just wanted to bring it back up becasue i noticed something today that really set me off.
Now I fully understand that the Gazette and the guys on the radio(topper and the boys) are from Bedford and its very evident. On thursday night NBC got hammered by Ridge, and Bedford got killed by North Star. On the front page of fridays Gazette theres a subtitle about Ridge beating Nbc and on the inside there is just a huge write up on the match. Beside that there is the run down of the Bedford match with two paragraphs. Now what im getting at is if Bedford and NBC would of both won big matches on the same night it would of been the other way around with Bedford getting all the publicity.
So what is everyones opinion??

Actually, I doubt that if the Bisons won, their article would have been much bigger. My main reason for this conclusion is because the match was at North Star, so the Gazette probably had no staffer covering it.

I can see your point in a way but in my opinion any county team that wins usually gets a big article. If bedford and everett played at home on teh same night againest differnt teams and they both won there would prob. be a big write up on both of them.

It has always been that way. Bedford this Beford that. Who Cares. Bedford is so overrated. very true when they lose there is about a sentence or to about it. But when they win god its like 2 pages long. I dont get it!!!

And the radio guys are not just for bedford. I heard topper the other night talkin about Jake and Josh so he is not just one sided

I get tired of hearing about this beaten horse year after year, it's not the Hyndman Gazette or the Chestnut Ridge Gazette!!!!!!!!! Granted there is times when they do go over board with certain topics but, when all the county schools have a big accomplishment, they usually cover it. ie......NBC's girls softball team last year and the Snyder boys doing so well last year in post season. let it go .....and move on!!!!!!!!!!!

Amen, the BEDFORD Gazette should give more to Bedford than other schools since a major of their readership is from the immediate Bedford area. In fact, people in Bedford sometimes feel the opposite, that other schools get the headlines not Bedford.

whats funny is the "minimum" coverage that the other teams besides bedford recieve in the BEDFORD gazette is far more than any other paper probly in the state! pick up the philly inquire sometime...see how big the articles from the Catholic league for basketball are (if theres even any article at all!). people need to learn to be grateful for what they have and not whine about what they dont, if they want big articles, then how about getting a job at the gazette and start writing articles...better yet, talk to ur mayor or town supervisors or what not, and have them start a newspaper just for ur town! that way u can get ur precious articles

the sports dept. for the Gazette is doing a nice job. In my opinion, the coverage has been pretty evenly spread this year. Although, I agree with the statement that , just looking at numbers and %'s, the majority of the PAYING subscribers are from Bedford.
