Taking a page from the PSU football manual....
Usually a Penn State thing.....getting arrested.
Jabaal Sheard got arrested last night/this morning in the Southside. Suspended indefinitely. Hopefully it wont be a suspension. But if it does....Brandon Lindsey,Shayne Hale, or incoming stud recruit TJ Clemmings will do just fine.
Pitt also picks up a very peculiar recruit.
Breon Allen, a 5-7 skatback from Florida.
I mean he chose Pitt over Marshall, Bethune-Cookman, and Illinois State?!?! I mean he chose Pitt over teams that would be on the Nitters out of conference schedule. Seems a bit weird. I watched his highlights on Youtube. He looked good but it looks like he was playing teams of Ferndale's caliber. We have limited scholarships and I find it odd we are using one on him. Pitt is only taking 2 tailbacks and we have one filled, and that leaves us to go hard after Huggins or Poteat. And I'm pretty sure we're going to get Poteat. Maybe we found another Dion? Or we are wasting our time

Re: Taking a page from the PSU football manual....
Well I, for one, am shocked. I didn't think Pitt players got in trouble. I know for certain all players on the team wait until they are 21 to drink, though. This just baffles me. I thought all Pitt players did were go to class and wait for football practice and games.
I believe Pitt signed this kid because they feel they will be left out of all the super conferences and be in a conference with Marshall, Bethune-Cookman, and Illinois State in 4 years. Looks like their getting a jump on the competition.

Believe me guys I'm as shocked as you guys are.
you do know Penn State's first commit selected them over Bucknell. Is PSU dropping out of the Big 12? Looking to get in the Patriot league? Sad thing is, if they were in the Patriot league for basketball, they are a middle of the pack team.

Re: Taking a page from the PSU football manual....
Good news Pitt fans. Pitt's commit has grown an inch since the article came out that he committed. He is now listed at 5'7 according to crimson and is apparently growing quickly.
Word on the street is that Sheard threw a guy through a window after Police had arrived on the scene and was trying to break up he fight. I feel totally fooled by all of this. It apparently happened at 1:30 am Sunday monrning when I would assume all Pitt players would be home in bed chores done, prayers said, and ready fo early mass.
I would comment on the Penn State player in the thread but since Crimson wanted to talk about Pitt we probably shouldn't hjack the thread and talk only about Pitt.

This is what happens when 30 years pass between 10 wins season. Recruits know they aren't due to have another 10 win campaign until 2040. Even then it will still be all Paterno's fault.Crimson09Crazy wrote:

Re: Taking a page from the PSU football manual....
We can't really make fun of them for this scholarship offer. Is the kid fast? If he has lightning speed, whats the issue?
Look at this, guys. We offered a scholarship to what I am calling the lowest hanging fruit in the entire time I have closely followed PSU recruiting. Carter's film is reasonably impressive from a WR standpoint. But he's not being recruited as a WR, he's being brought in as a TE. He is very weak, comparitively speaking. He can't block, and his bench is atrocious. It's real, real weak. He picked us over Bucknell, guys. Meanwhile, we stand on the sidelines and let Koyack leave the state, we never push hard for Vannett, we lose the McClain and Miller sweepstakes, and we are not even remotely interested in what I believe is a great TE prospect, NJ's 4-star Jack Tabb, who's grades are fine as well.
Then, look at Devon Smith. Much better offers list than the Pit kid, but he's little and he's just fast.
We also took a gamble on Curtis Dukes, who bulldozed his ay all over New York state b/c he's bigger than everyone else. Now, once in a D1 atmosphere, Dukes has toughness issues and is reportedly not as mentally tough as he needs to be. Other schools stayed away from Dukes bc of the teams he was playing against.

Enough talk....I am dying to hear the real scoop on the situation, bring in WPInheAdL and let him share the truth on this very difficult and complex situation.

Re: Taking a page from the PSU football manual....
I guess Sheard got into a fight with another guy on East Carson Street and the police had to break it up. This is unlike what happens in State College, where when a PSU football player gets involved in an altercation, he runs back to his dorm, gets about 7 or 8 of his teammates, and they go as a group back to the guys apartment and beat the **** out of him, with the aid of a beer bottle across the head.
