Well here we go again....
Panthers on National TV on a Thursday against a top 20 team.....
I am a little worried. Its easy to feel good going into the season. Everyone does, but then that September doubt comes in. We lost to Utah on the road and saw some flaws i.e. cause for concern. You guys got destroyed by Alabama and played less then impressive against Kent State .....(I don't mean to bring you guys into it, but considering Nitters are about 92% of my audience...I have to)
It's going to be an electric atmosphere....100 or so former Panthers are coming to town, We haven't played Miami since 2003. Its going to be a fun night at Heinz Field, and I'm really looking forward to it. And looking through the rosters, the teams have similar talent. We are going to try to run more, Miami is going to pass and rely on big plays more.
Pitt isn't looking great so far, but its still the same team that was a projected top 15 team preseason. No need to worry yet. Dion may be having a sophomore slump, oh well. Ray Graham was the higher touted player of the two and I could care less which one gets a 100 yards a game. We have Baldwin and Shanahan that stand at 6-5 a piece. Miami's corners are 6-1 and 5-11. We need to take that advantage. Also Cam Saddler needs the ball in his hands, he can make plays in space. I believe Tino is going to be a very good QB, and I think he will get better each and every week. And the Canes are starting to get thin at Defensive Tackle. That will be a HUGE help. Our guards and Centers aren't very good. Jacobsen is pretty good, but Gaskins and Karabin are big liabilities. So It doesn't matter to me which back gets the ball.whoever is being more effective.
On Defense is what scares me. We are without Romeus who had back surgery and lost his mother all in one week. Wish him all the best. Tough week. But Lindsey is ready too step up, and TJ Clemmings is expected to get his redshirt lifted. Anxious to see the big boy play. The rest of our Dline can get pressure, and Miami runs a more conventional offense so we should see some sacks out of the D. Mason may not get to play, but Gruder will do just fine in the Middle and Roberts and WIlliams are good athletes on the outside. Miami won't be running the ball too much. Our key is to get pressure on Harris. And thats going to have to happen, because our secondary is well, questionable. Reed and Gary are inconsistent. True Freshmen Williams will see his time. We have about 5 Safeties, and none seem to be playing that well. Holley is the best. DeCicco has been starting for years but gets easily beat. Wish we had Fields for a game like this.
I'm a Pitt fan, I'm not going to pick against the Panthers, ever. If we can establish the run this week, Get the ball to Baldwin, and make Miami run...We can win. Maybe some rain on Thursday can slow them down. That would be ideal. It's going to be a great atmosphere, and I think a good showcase for the Big East.
Give me Pitt 24-17.
Dion wakes up this week for 126 and a score.

Re: Well here we go again....
I have no read on this game whatsoever. I think if Pitt can get some sort of a running game going they could have a shot. I think it all comes down to how Miami reacts to the Ohio State loss. If they still feel they have something to prove and feel they can get back into the picture I could see a Miami victory 31-13. If Pitt starts out the game strong, the crowd stays in it and the momentum carries over I could see Pitt winning a 27-24 type of game.
If Pitt's interior lines are as bad as I think they might be and Sunseri has a lot of third and longs, it could be a long day. Wouldnt surprise me to see Pat Bostick at some point.

Most popular QB is always the backup.
It depends on the Interior line, your 100% right.
