I don't get what you're saying Nlions? I've never been a koolaid drinker. I've been on the dark side since the early 2000's. I think Penn State has everything in place to be a national power on a yearly basis. The only thing they are missing is the coach to get them there. Unfortunately, I do not see the coach to get them their on the current coaching staff and i'm afraid that is where the next coach is coming from...the Joe Paterno 1980 school of coaching.

I was talking to a 1980's alum last night downtown and he said that Joe has been the head coach since he was 6 years old. Hell this guy looked like he was about to retire. Its sad to say but maybe a serious health problem is the only way he will get out of the program anytime soon.
BTW, did they call timeouts differently in 1970 because I always thought coaches were suppose to find the nearest official, be yelling, and clearly be signaling for a timeout. Not moseying down the sidelines making whatever the ******* sign he was making.
I think Shocker would be a better head coach of that program right now.

JokePa will not retire even if he has a health problem. He will sit in the press box or coach from a wheelchair or gurney.
In all seriousness, the only even remote hope for him to retire is if his family (wife, kids) and a trained counselor sit down with him and do an intervention. If you recall several years ago, he told Curley and Spanier to get lost when they asked him to step down. What makes anyone think he cannt do whatever he wants to given this fact?
The man looks awful physically, and has had many physical maladies, beginning with the broken leg a few years back, crapping his pants on the sideline, and the mysterious illness he had for months this past summer. Emotionally, he is falling fast. He sounds senile when he talks, is more cantankerous than ever, and appears to be losing his mind.
A serious intervention led by a trained professional involving immediate family is the only hope to have him retire, and even that would be risky. He's so senile that he may turn on his family and disown them if they try it.
Paturdo's family members have to be concerned about him. Watch the post game presser from Bama ( The man has one foot in the psychiatric ward and the other foot on a banana peel.
