northern cambria is a team to watch in d6A.

they've been solid last handful of years but haven't produced in districts. last year was a perfect example blowing 20+ point lead in d6 semis...

Week of 12/20/10

1. Johnstown
2. Shade
3. Bishop Guilfoyle
4. North Star
5. Forest Hills
6. Richland
7. Westmont
8. Conemaugh Valley
9. Central Cambria
10. Chestnut Ridge

I have reduced the list to 10 because 20 teams are just too much to evaluate. I think I need to explain my process. Forest Hills is better than 5th but at this time their lack of games and early loss has hurt them in the rankings. Bishop Guilfoyle is ranked 3rd because of their strong performance against Richland and they played Jtown pretty tough. North Star is very talented and played Jtown tough for 3 quarters until injuries took effect, they also played without their starting center. Westmont has jumped way up the list after 3 big victories over very solid teams. Chestnut Ridge is 3-1 and loss a close game to Tussey Mnt who by the way handled Bishop McCort, Ridge may be forreal. At the end of the day Jtown is by far and away the best team in this area, but I feel they can be beat.
Shocker: Bishop McCort is 0-4 and looks to be headed to 0-5 this Wednesday vs. Jtown. It seems like the young talent that BM has is not working out to well. They can jump start their season with a big upset vs the Trojans though.

United has already got past them by 5 points last week. I think United may be the team to watch. They have size and speed. The only thing that will be their problem is their coach. Hopefuly they can win dispite him.

united has a nice team. them, northern cambria, marion center, penns manor, homer-center figure to be fighting for the heritage championshis.

that united game was a bad loss for nc, they controlled the game and didn't play well down the stretch. but for all i know maybe united played bad too and then came back to win it in the clutch.

my only point though was that I think northern cambria will once again be a contender in d6a, which i still think is true despite losing to united. i like that nc added johnstown and forest hills to their schedule. they have a lot of sophomores playing who are talented so the harder schedule figures to help them come playoff time.
