Ok,,he had alot of luck on his side,,I personally think Brock will pin or tech him next time,,he also got beat by an average wrestler,,McClosky that is....Garrett scott looked very impressive in beating Mcintyre of Claysburg,,,Before this tourn. I thought Strayer was the only one to stop Garrett from 4 titles,,but not any more I think he would beat strayer by at least 4 points...nobody will stop this kid...Other impressive wrestlers were..Whetstone,,westley,Ritchey, Hower, Knott,B.Shaw,Tate

Will Edwards from B-A was the other kid that beat Sam.For your info,Edwards was a regional qualifier last year beating Sam's older brother Dane 2-1 at districts to earn a trip to UPJ.So Sam lost 2 seperate 2pt matches to quality kids,I believe he pinned his other 4 opponents. The Scott match was 12-10 in overtime(after Sam led 8-5(with back points) with under a minute to go)
Should be a good confidence booster for the boy,he's faced some tough competition this year.

just for your info,,Brock scott is known to have let downs against lesser opponets...I agree it is a great confidence builder for a young guy and he will continue to improve,,,maybe he will get a shot at Brock at districts and pull off a big upset..but my opinion I don't think that will happen

No one is unbeatable. It can be pressure, health, or just a better kid that one match on that one day.

I agree that everyone is beatable, but u cant take anbything away from sam he put up a heck of a fight against scott and really deserves to be patted on the back because of his performance. This may possibly be a look at what same has in store for the rest of the season good job sam.

Agreed, he deserves a lot of credit and may have wrestled the match of his life. Congratulations.

This sounds like a sign of things to come for this young man. He has impressed me many times this year. If you ask me, the Brock Scott match was no kind of fluke (based on McCloskey's prior matches). I don't think he is Brock Scott's caliber quite yet, but that doesn't mean he won't be. A match like that make alot of people start talking about luck or off-days, etc. instead of giving Sam the credit he is due. Congratulations to Sam for a strong showing and good luck the rest of the year to he and Brock Scott both.
