Ligonier Valley Rams want out of Heritage
Re: Ligonier Valley Rams want out of Heritage
Your point about all schools around here having declining enrollments is a good one. The PIAA football enrollment ceiling for class A is currently 184 males. Ligonier Valleys reported male enrollment was 231 which is why they were classified AA. Ligonier Valley middle school male enrollment reported to the PIAA was 150 but I'm not sure if that number includes the school consolidation. Because so many schools are experiencing declining enrollments, the 184 male enrollment ceiling will surely fall when the new PIAA chart is published at the end of this year. We'll know then what classification the Rams will be. Only then should Ligonier Valley make decisions about whether they should leave the Heritage Conference.

Ligonier Valley school board will vote on their committee's conference recommendation at school board meeting on October 10. If someone hears what the school board's decision is, please post that night!

Good article on the state of Chestnut Ridge and Ligonier Valley and their potential moves.
Chestnut Ridge, LHAC Talking Again
No offense to the Lions, but if they are losing 41-14 to a Windber team that got blown out by Conemaugh Township, what they heck do they think is going to happen to them in the LHAC?

Look for the Heritage and WestPac conferences to dissolve and the rebirth of the Appalachian conference!

Big East officials have been spotted in Ligonier the past few days.
Nothing official, but John Marinatto is preparing for more defections, and is in talks with East Carolina, Ligonier Valley, and the Naval Academy as we speak.

To simplify things and using a most likely scenario, if Ligonier Valley decides to join the LHAC, Chestnut Ridge will be able to join too. If Ligonier Valley decides on the WPIAL, Chestnut Ridge will be able to replace them in the Heritage........or not? If what I'm reading on here about past hostilities being able to stop progress, hopefully all the old bull headed terds have retired and new young leadership will favor what is best for their conferences.

Anyone hear what happened at the meeting last night?
Re: Ligonier Valley Rams want out of Heritage
The Tribune-Review did have an article concerning the Ligonier Valley School Board meeting last night, but nothing was said about the decision that was due concerning their football conference preference.
I am anxiously waiting.

The board gave the go ahead to pursue another conference . I heard the Blairsville AD on the radio tonight stating that the HERITAGE has given Ligonier 10 days to notify them of their decision. By the way I heard the Big East has extended invites to Boise St., Air Force and Navy.p
