Why doesn't curwensville play in the ICC with West Branch, Mo Valley, Bellwood, etc?
Re: Curwensville
How long of a story do you want? As told to me by former Cville coaches
Cuwensville played in the ICC in the 90's, and were told the schedule would rotate, they were not happy that it didn't rotate, Curwensville never played Juniata Valley, Southern Hundington, and Tussey Mountain when all three were very bad.
Cuwensville always played Clearfield and their ICC schedule always had, Bald Eagle Nittany, Penns Valley, Bellwood, Bishop Guilfoyle, Mo Valley, and West Branch. Glendale, Everette and Mount Union rotated on to thier schedule.
They felt they probably had the hardest schedule in the league, and it didn't help that Curwensville was not very good in the early 90's. By 95 or 96, Cville had a very good team, they lost to Mo Valley who won D6A and went to the State Semi's (probably the best team Mo Valley ever had) and lost to Clearfield, who ended up losing to an Erie team in state playoffs (possibly the best team Clearfield ever had). At 7-2, Curwensville got left out of D9 AA playoffs to teams with lesser records. They were basically told, you don't play but one D9 team, and we don't know how good you are.
Cville either had to go to D6, or go to a D9 league. They felt they had been lied to when the ICC league was formed and went to the league they are in now.
At first, the AML was a pretty good deal for Cville (regarding wins and losses), the league was not as good as the division of the ICC that they played in. Now, with BEN gone, and Guilfoyle, Penns Valley playing in other leagues, along with Mo Valley of 2000's not being nearly as good as Mo Valley of the 90's. The schedule is pretty much the same as if they played in the ICC.
