Who: Mike Brooks
Team: Johnstown Trojans
Why: Brooks is a BIG part of what returns for Johnstown's football team this year. He tore his ACL a year ago and has rehabbed back into playing form.

Johnstown football has had a terrific run over the last few years, but it looks like you guys will be rebuilding some this year. What should we expect from the Trojans in 2012?
Expect to see a lot of hard working guys that have worked hard all summer. We hear the people saying oh they lost so and so they aren't going to be good this year. That's completely wrong. Sure we don't have the big named players like last year but our guys can play. Don't count us out.
What was your rehab like for your torn ACL?
It was tough, a lot of painful stuff. I was thankful to have everybody around me to get me past it. Our school trainer Chris was a big help, and the people at Western PA helped out big also.
How has Coach Penna changed the football culture at Johnstown since he's been there?
He has given it more pride and tradition. He treats us players like we are his kids and I love that. He builds a real connection with everyone.
What is your favorite rivalry game?
I'd have to say Bishop McCort. They are right up the road and I think when we play each other, we have the best atmosphere. I get butterflies before every game but not anywhere near the feeling before the McCort games lol.
Other than your own jerseys, which school has the nicest ones in the area?
I really like Richland's jerseys. They have a couple different ones.
What is your favorite sports movie of all time?
Probably Friday Night Lights or Remember The Titans.
Tell us something that most people don't know about you.
I'm not really sure, just like chilling with my team. They are like my brothers.
Who will score the most touchdowns for Johnstown this year?
It's hard to tell. We really do have a lot of people that can do damage. Lots of players will see the field at the skilled positions.
If you were playing LHAC fantasy football, who would your first pick be?
There are a lot of great players but I'd have to say either my teammate Dalvin Williams or Forest Hills Jared Shope.
What is your favorite thing about football?
I just love the game in general but I really love getting pancake blocks. Best feeling around.
Do you have any pregame traditions or rituals?
I'm really superstitious. I like to do the same things on game day and wear the same stuff lol. It's just how I am.
