Hurricane Sandy Closes Schools

Post by Warrior1554 »

So what are the rules with practicing whenever school is cancelled? I heard somewhere that teams cannot practice whenever their school is cancelled, this could cause some problems one week before playoffs start.

I don't think any school can practice when cancelled. I know many schools cancelled all after school activities today as well.

Its in the PIAA rules, if a school is closed for weather or any dangerous conditions, no games or practice may take place on those facilities.

The playoffs start this week for 3-6 Hollidaysburg and 4-5 Altoona. I don't think missing a few days of practice will have much effect on the outcome of their games.

I won't argue with you on that one. Rough way to go out if you're a senior on either of those teams.

I'm wondering if any games will be moved to Saturday instead of Friday. Weather will be a little better then, and teams can practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (if they want to).
