Re: D6 Playoff Scenarios/Rundown
don't have a horse in the race just trying to see if it was right.
Here is Penns Manor opponents records:
NC 7 3 10
Blairsville 6 4 10
Homer 6 4 10
Saltsburg 3 7 10
MC 3 7 10
CV 3 7 10
PL 2 8 10
United 0 10 10
Lig 9 1 10
Key 2 8 10
Total 41 100
So like others I got 41/100.
The only thing i can think of is they didn't count certain opponent's wins but all wins were against legit piaa schools.
- was thinking that maybe they took out the opponents' result against pm but then their % would go up.
very odd. hope someone can explain how it is listed as 38.67% on d6 website.

Re: D6 Playoff Scenarios/Rundown
The schools websites have Homer Center and Saltsburg bot having only played 9 games (which is different than the D6 Rankings). Figuring out both ways still has them above 40%.
JV is correct at 39%. Even if you take out the records for the loss each had it helps PM.
Someone needs to explain the fuzzy math,,,,makes no sense what so ever...

Re: D6 Playoff Scenarios/Rundown
As noted previously:
If you use only records of teams they've beaten, it's PM by a larger margin
If you calculate for only D6 teams, it's PM by a larger margin
AND
The only math that even comes out anywhere remotely near 38.67 is 41-65, 106 total games, which comes to 38.679. There is NO W-L total for 40, 39, 38, 37, 36, 35, 34, 33, 32, 31 or 30 wins that comes out to 38.67.
Hope the Indiana Gazette or Altoona Mirror follows up on this and gets explanation.

Re: D6 Playoff Scenarios/Rundown
d6 site changed it recently.
it now has penns manor seeded 3rd and juniata valley seeded 4th (and does have the 41% for pm that we got)
haha i figured they got it wrong.
either way, its tough a road for pm and jv in the first round: bg or bm. bg has been more consistent but bm crushed them.

Re: D6 Playoff Scenarios/Rundown
Hallelujah, now we can play football.
Guessing they were using an Excel spreadsheet since Week 1 to track winning pct. and there was an entry error early in the season that wouldn't have been noticed then.

Re: D6 Playoff Scenarios/Rundown
Good to see they fixed the error, would have been terrible if they had messed up the seedings.

Re: D6 Playoff Scenarios/Rundown
sydfinch, I have to give you BIG props. You cracked the code EXACTLY. Got the story directly from one of the D6 Football Committee members. They WERE using 106 as the denominator (the THEY being PA Football News, I guess). I did not get an explanation of where that number came from, but your guess that there was a bad number in a spreadsheet somewhere makes as much sense as anything.
