Re: D6SN: Sweet 16.
Nice list. All very worthy selections.
Just want to point out one of the OG's pet peeves...INFLATED High School Tackle Stats. Now...although I'm sure someone will try to spin it, the OG isn't knocking this following player...he is without a doubt one of the best defensive players in the area, however this stat line is RIDICULOUS.
146 Tackles, 59 Solo.
Not possible. Clearly, whoever does the stats for this team does not have any idea what constitutes a tackle, or an assist. Need proof look here: http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats? ... onType=REG
Top 50 NFL defensive players...and NONE have more assists than Solos, let alone nearly 1.5x as many assists than solos...because it is not possible. It is simply pile jumping...and someone is awarding a tackle for it. In fact, if you look closely, the average is a player will have twice the number of solos compared to assists.
So what's the problem with this? Well, it causes disparity when ALLWHATEVER teams are selected and stats are the strongest consideration, it makes the process very unfair. Or even, when stats are listed in the local paper and these players are listed at the top with so many more tackles than others players receive recognition when they might not deserve it as much as another said player.
This happens all the time at the high school level. Fans can only hope it is an innocent mistake and not one made to make a said player look better than the rest.

And the last thing I must tell you...NEVER QUIT!

Nice list Crimson. But how about you do an all-area team by position on both sides of the ball too. I would like to see who u consider are the best around including offensive and defensive linemen.

I'd need to talk to coaches before I could compile a list. Skill players you can watch highlights and look at stats, linemen is a whole different animal.
