Nothing against Crouse because i think he is a quality wrestler but that's a pretty bold statement to say he will win states as a senior. If he goes deep into the state tournament this year i think you could legitimately make that case. Right now he has 2 losses to D-5 kids (Thomas & Replogle) with 1 win (Miller). I am in no way hating on Crouse i just think that its a little of a stretch to say he will be a state champ as of now. In my opinion it takes way more than just clubs to make a state champ.

I also agree. Crouse is tough and we have seen him beat some really good kids. But... He hasn't won a district title or a match at regionals yet. It's a little early to start talking state title. He is in some weights that are extremely tough too. He will really have to battle to get out of regionals this year too.

By the sounds of last night if Miller was in good shape he would have had a 3rd loss to a D-5 kid this year.

Anyone know the story with Miller? Does he normally gas? sick? or did Crouse just wear him down?

I'd imagine it was a combo of gassing and crouse wearing him down. I think after Crouse's wins against Swarrow and Easter people thought he was just going to walk through all area kids. He is good but i think Crouse was really hot when Swarrow and Easter were maybe having a little problems. The thing that i think separates Swarrow and Easter from Crouse is the first 2 know when to step it up (Post Season). Granted Crouse is only a sophmore but Lefteye made a good point he didnt even win a match at Regionals while Easter, Swarrow both won state medals again.

I think that the Berlin trainer sat beside Miller the rest of the evening due to concussion concerns.

per RSprings blog, PA Power Rankings had Crouse ranked 12th in the region back in late Dec.

I understand what you are saying about crouse not winning against top kids this year, but he did beat easter twice and he is a candidate for states, right? And also I didn't say this year he would do it. I have a cousin from ridge that follows the wrestling and said crouse puts nothing into it when the season is over, but works his tail off during the season and he never gets gassed at the end. I was just saying a little mat club with strittmatter wrestling the best kids in the offseason with some greco/freestyle tournaments would help his case to place as a senior not a sophomore. Kids like roberts, rizzo, law, rissaliti, easter, berchick were just a few to name that went to central cambrias school with jody in the offseason and wrestled in more than folkstyle wrestling tourneys and got better on their feet which helped all these kids place in states while some winning 1st place. Upj wrestlers are their a lot also. If crouse would wrestle year round he would be a lot better than his talent alone is taking him. Jody always said wrestlers that wrestled just in high school during the season can't count that as a full year of wrestling because other kids are at the clubs and that is a full year and those are the kids who will go places.

I agree with Captain, although i see what sppawfan is saying and he is proving a good point but I thnk two years of matclub isnt going to win him states. Great win Crouse! Come districts 132 is going to be a fun weight to watch!

Dont overlook Berlin at District Duals....I can remember a North Star team that got pounded not too long ago by Bedford during the season 48-12 or something like that. Then came back and beat Bedford at district duals....just saying
