Footballguy99, that is a great group of players. Any of this list of players not making the list of the top 20 players would be a big injustice for that player.

Starting with the running backs. They are all yardage and touchdown machines. They all have combinations of speed and/or power and will find the end zone. All were at the top of the yardage and touchdown lists form last year. All are super high school football players.

Both quarterbacks had big years last year. They were the only two quarterbacks to go over 2000 yards passing. They were the top two quarterbacks in touchdowns thrown last year and both were near the top of the list of the best completion percentage. With some teams dropping up to 8 defenders and still completing about 60% of their passes is exceptional for high school players.

But there are still two big time players not on this list with Christian Lezzer and Austin Cunningham and there are only 5 spots left. Some very deserving players are not only going to get left out of the top 5 list but as it looks now they won’t even be part of top 20 list! All 7 players listed above had great seasons last year and have already proved their value to their teams and do not need to rely on speculation for the upcoming season.

I noticed Cunningham got mentioned in the Moore article. Lezzer would be a for sure guy but D9 hasn't been covered by their site. He's probably Top 5 in western PA.

Just thinking Selepak the OL from West Branch was tough. Don't think lineman were in this though

The one thing about over is his int's he threw more picks than TD's which usually is just from bad decision making. His footwork and mechanics were sloppy at times to but he is a great athlete and has good size. After watching both shaffer and over play id give the edge to shaffer he looked like a general when he played always having his players lined up and knew what to run which was important in richlands fast paced offense. He had some really good feet and mechanics he also had a low interception total so if i were to pick between the two QB's id go with Shaffer from richland.

Unfortunately Linemen and most defensive standout players were not taken into consideration. Maybe I could work on a list like that in the future.

And, while Lezzer could be the best player out of everyone, we typically do not include Clearfield in our stuff.

Richland's workhorse running back, Tanner Solarczyk, comes in at number 5.

I know there will always be players left off any list. Neither of these 2 are top five, but 2 players from the Heritage that will make some noise. Steve Dumm will probably be the best football player in the league even thou he is a lineman. Deion Robinson from Blairsville will be a jr. 2012 stats (rushing) 789 yards, 8.22 ypc, 9 td (receiving) 361 yards, 16.41 ypc, 3 td (def) 4 int.

Not intending to find fault with any of your picks, but thats the trouble with a finite list, whether top 5, 10, 20, 50, whatever. SOMEBODY is going to be left off that somebody ELSE thinks is more deserving. It's YOUR list, not everyone else's. Let them post their own list. Good list, good picks IMO.
It ain't over until it's over.

Two other players from the heritage that shiuld have break out years are alec bloom and scott fennell. Bloom a 6 foot 7 TE/WR averaged about 21 yards a catch and caught 7 touchdowns he did only have about twenty receptions but ligonier i dont think threw the ball even 10 times a game. Fennell was nearly a 1000 yard passer in a very run heavy offense both i think could have big years for LV.
