Post by konjo78 »

Not sure who follows soccer here but I watch every 4years to root for my country. This year is a super bad draw. Portugal, germany and ghana is going to be super rough

I played in high school, I really believe, and konjo you might think I'm crazy for this, but i really believe this of any of the years is going to be the best. Tactically they are the best they have ever looked, they have a very strong back four and a good midfield, of course everybody is talking about altidore up top but he actually overshadows who I think is the better player of the two in Dempsey. Klinsman has them at the best they have ever been and definitely better than the South Africa appearance. Do I think they can make it out of the group stage? Absolutely! Germany is tough, through and through, I don't really see them beating them, it's a lonshot but its sports anything can happen, but the way ozil is playing I just don't see it. Portugal=beatable. Shut down ronaldo and they are basically the bottom of the barrel team. Shutting down cr is literally the closing thing to impossible, but I feel with the standard United States physical play were the best fit. Ghana is a team of overachievers, they will come ready to play but I think with the current US play they are a most likely win. Lets go USA!

I agree, if they make it out of group stages they have a real shot at going far. This is the best USA soccer has been in forever. It really helps that they have Ghana first. If USA and Germany both win round one all USA needs to shoot for is Ties against Germany and Portugal, both of which are reasonable
