Source coppied. Just sad in my eyes. RCR has turned into the biggest joke in racing and i don't blame harvick for saying the things just a few months ago.

I don't mind seeing the 3 back in the Cup series but they way Richard did it does irk me a little. He earmarked this number for his grandson in what I think is an attempt to gain fan support artificially. There are thousands of race fans that will cheer for the 3 car if Adolf Hitler is driving it. Essentially today, he gave his grandson hundreds of thousands of Dale's fans. IMO, the 3 should have never left he sport. Dale Earnhardt said for a decade that he wanted Jeff Burton to be his eventual replacement. When Jeff started driving for RCR he should have got the 3.

I agree with you abpk. I guess what bugs me more isn't the fact the #3 will be making a come back. Its that Richard will be using the black paint scheme on it..... Its one thing if he came back and ran a white #3 car but when its almost the same paint scheme? Come on.... just ridiculous.

"My hope is that Dale Earnhardt fans will be re-energized and say `Hey, it gives me something to look at,' " he said. "We know we aren't going to please everyone. We know that. We are going to do our best to make them proud and I know Austin will. I think the new fans will learn a lot about the great Dale Earnhardt by watching this."

This Richard Childress quote basically sums up you comment....

Anybody can turn left. Drag racing is the real speed sport.

Going left is easy. The liberal thing to do. Going right, or down the middle, takes guts.
It ain't over until it's over.
