Per an article on Pennlive, " several elected official strongly suggested they saw no reason for a legislative remedy". Sounds like the legislators on the oversight committee are willing to let the PIAA and charters hash it out. I don't see any changes forthcoming.

IMO, it will be news when they get the guts to do something about it. Just blowin' smoke so far.
It ain't over until it's over.

"Interscholastic sports are part of the learning experience."

Then everyone should be required to participate in interscholastic sports.

I personally enjoyed this statement from Lincoln Park's AD.

"Our athletics program is 100 percent independent from the school,” Bariski said.

Apparently the athletics program at Lincoln Park consists of one boys basketball team.

They also offer volleyball and golf: http://www.lppacs.org/about/athletics.php. Not much of a selection considering their size (AA in the next cycle). Their boys enrollment is on par with Berlin, Blairsville and United.

When it comes to recruiting practices and inequality with PIAA the most we can do is come onto this board and complain. I think Dr. Lombardi gave people a platform to legitimately complain. Why should taxpayers have to fund two athletic programs for one district? This is something that people can address with the local representatives. It really is a tax issue
