Obviously a goalie's mistakes are magnified more than others, but be played a very good game overall. He did make two bad plays at the end, no denying that.

40 saves don't matter much? If he makes 37 saves we aren't even having this conversation and the series is still tied 2-2. No one is disputing he made a horrible play at the end of regulation and let in the 5th weakest goal in the history of the NHL in OT. The other 2 goals were power play goals.... My 10 year old daughter could have scored the 2nd goal on Patrick Roy. Did you even watch the game or just look at the box score afterwards? Not every goal that goes in is the goalies fault.

I did watch the full game... And yes power play goals are expected but leaving the net with 25 seconds left???? That's like a pitcher balking and having the a run score to tie the game in the 9th with 2 outs.... You can blame his teammates but they put him in a position to win and he completely lost it for them!

No one is denying that. You are totally missing the point if thats all you can focus on though. I realize he made a monumental mistake that ultimately cost his team the game but you are totally discounting the fact he kept his team in the game for 50 minutes of hockey. To use your baseball reference.... if a pitcher tosses 8 2/3 innings of shutout baseball and his offense only scores one run and then walks someone and gives up a 2 run bomb to lose do you blame the entire loss on him? Hell no you don't... he did his job and then made a mistake. If the Pens don't go into a shell and allow the puck to be rammed down their throat for 50 straight minutes we don't have this conversation about MAF.

If that pitch is a warm up pitch thrown straight over the plate that anyone can jack... Yes I do blame the pitcher......

lol okay. good answer... worry about the Flyers making it out of round 1 and then come back and give us your input on the Pens.
He tired to make a play and the puck jumped over his stick... you act like he went and took a nap in the corner. Continue to magnify one play and disregard the entire body of work.

1 play lead to an open net game evening goal with 25 seconds left! To act like giving up an open net goal isn't deserving if severe critisism you're missing the point. Then pens body of work said we are up a goal with an open net don't give them a chance at anything easy... He left the net they scored HE Lost the game for them! Same way Marty biron dove on a puck in the middle of the zone giving the opposing team a power play.
Re: #Pens vs #BlueJackets Official Thread! #StanleyCupPlayof
Nearly every NHL goalie ever would have left the net to play the puck.
Goalies have done it thousands and thousands of times this year.
It normally doesn't end the way it did last night which makes him look like a fool.

You are blaming fleury for last night and that's fine, a lot of people blame him for a lot of things. Take a look deeper though. In the second period there was a 4-5 minute stretch where the jackets were on a powerplay (2 of those minutes were 5 on 3). Thats 5 minutes of an open body, obviously they weren't on the full five minutes cause they scored but still. If you ask me that is where blame, if any, should be pointed. Dumb penalties at crucial times in the games.

I've said 33987987 different times on here he deserves criticism for the way things ended but to say "HE lost the game" is so far from the truth. Before that dump in if Orpik gets the puck deeper the dump in never happens. If this happens... if that happens and etc.... so many things lead to the Pens losing that game. The play in question is obviously magnified to the 10th degree but it's irresponsible to say MAF lost the game.
