False. The District can't charge for D6 playoff baseball games. If the District can't make money everywhere, they can't make it at McCort.
Now if the PIAA decides to play inter-district games at the point, they could charge because at that point they only go to venues that can collect a gate.

Re: 6AA Playoffs
Make it donation then. Are you telling me fans of the sport wouldn't cough up $5 as an example, for the chance to watch 5 or 6 games at a facility like the Point? And spend a few $$ on the overpriced concession food? It would be just like a slightly smaller scale AAABA tournament day.
It ain't over until it's over.

Surprising that Tyrone beat Mount Union, especially as bad as they did. Must have been a down year in the ICC.

What games are you suggesting move here? Why would a team want to travel at all if they earned a higher seed? Inquiring minds want to know.

6AA Playoffs
Not sure central would give up home field advantage to play at the point. They love playing in the windy cow pasture, and most other schools hate the place. Its definately an advantage.

Re: 6AA Playoffs
For example, So I'm Bald Eagle. I'm 18-2 and the 2 seed and I have to play 7-13 Richland the 15 seed. I would travel over 2 hours to a game 5 minutes from Richland HS because of the great opportunity to play at the Point Stadium? It's not Yankee Stadium. It's a half finished stadium that happens to have turf.
That kind of would make the regular season obsolete to not even get home field advantage or even the opportunity to play close to home in the first round.
I don't understand this quite here

Are schools begging them to host this first round? Are the city leaders turning down some request? As far as I know, that isn't the case. This was merely a suggestion by you. So I don't see this as some blown opportunity by the stadium or city, maybe Forest Hills and the other schools or the district should have rented the stadium if they wanted play there so bad.Manfred wrote: This town wants money to come in but a case like this proves they don't want to change anything.

Re: 6AA Playoffs
Not too suprising . Tyrone can beat anyone when Millers on the mound, struggle with the gloves rest of the time.lhacbigfan wrote:Surprising that Tyrone beat Mount Union, especially as bad as they did. Must have been a down year in the ICC.

Re: 6AA Playoffs
It would be cool if they could play at the Curve or the Point based on the higher seed's proximity to either location. In the WPIAL they play at neutral locations in round 1.
