I agree with Dep 100% in that this rule really stinks. I know the intentions of the PIAA were good bringing this rule into play. The fact of the matter is that the amount of weight loss isn't going to change that much in the long run. Kendall probably never gave 103 much of a thought earlier this year (because Bedford had a 103 pounder--and a very good one). Now, Bedford needs Kendall to drop the weight because of an injury and he is penalized because the majority of his weigh-ins came at his so-called "natural weight". It's only my opinion, but I don't like the rule, because I don't see very much benefit to the kids, honestly. The rule I do like, though, is the random starting weight class at every dual meet. This idea is one of the best changes wrestling has seen in the past few years.
