big win for Altoona girls

Congrats to Altoona girls on their 57-41 win at BG. Only two BG players scored and they were held to 20 and 2 respectively and the transfers could only muster 19. 17 of BG’s 41 points came from the foul line so they tried but only shooting 15 more foul shots than Altoona wasn’t enough. The refs will have to step it up next time. That has to be a big boost for Altoona, let’s see if they can use this win to go on a roll. Come on dog pound the togas are getting old. Try to be more creative, I know, how about coming in different uniforms from other teams in the area. That way you can really show your support for the team. I was going to say you could show your school colors but that gets a little confusing for some.

Awesome, a school with 800 more girls won a game. What an accomplishment.

It is amazing to me that so many people see the way "things" go at BG and it still continues! You always have to be ahead by more than ten points to make up for the imbalance advantage of free throw shooting. It happened in the Delone game too and gave BG a win in OT. That game would have never been close, if Delone didn't have to play in a physical war against Blairsville the day before and BG breezed through United. Home tourney advantage, I guess. Glad to see Altoona beat them! I love the headline in the AM! BG coach makes me laugh out loud with his quote….how can his girls not be energized with it being a home game, student section, and recognition of football team…..way to go Altoona! Way to play with a chip on your shoulder!
