Pirates primer, Opening Day is almost here

Post by Sidewalk »

Liriano on the hill for opening day.

Kang struggling mightily recently. Mercer is playing well.

Cutch dealt with a little injury.

Cervelli is looking pretty good with the bat.

Marte looks like he could take the next step in his development.

Morton is struggling. Maybe Worley fills the void early on.

Worley is better than Locke right now but Locke is a lefty.

Tony Sanchez has always been a solid hitting catcher but his defense has improved so much since last year. Hopefully he keeps it up. He's playing extremely well.

Suddenly it seems like catcher is turning into a position of strength for the organization. Diaz, Cerivelli, and Sanchez all could be MLB contributors in 2015. I'll be interested to see how the Pirates manage the position.

If Sanchez shows he will hit, 1B and OF are possibilities.

We'll never see Tony Sanchez in the outfield, but at first base yes. I'm pretty sure he played there last year at times for Indy

Cory Hart is allegedly going to play the OF this year. If he can still play out there Sanchez could play out there

Cory Hart has played 828 games at OF.

Tony Sanchez 0.

Not quite apples to apples.
You play to win the game!!!

Dale Murphy and Brian Downing did it.

Neil Walker and Craig Biggio became second basemen.

Thurman Munson played RF.

Tony Sanchez could play RF.
