Yeah my classification listings were based on evenly splitting the football schools into 6 tiers as it stands now. It wouldn't be a terrible idea to jump from A to AA for some larger A schools in District 6. The new 6 AA competition lacks all the current studs of AA.
The new AAA would be an ultra competitive class.

9 regular season games, eliminate districts, only play schools in your class, top 32 records make the state playoffs, make the bracket geographically correct once the field it set. 14 week season. Simple and easy.

These are projections based only on this years enrollment numbers. Once the numbers for the next 2 years are sent in schools will be notified what class they're in and will be given a certain (undetermined as of yet) amount of time to elect to move up

Is this going to cause any conference shifting? The LHAC is the most polarizing that I can see. They will have teams in 4, maybe five (Johnstown???)different classes.

In Pittsburgh city I'm thinking Westinghouse may bump up to AA because there are supposed to be taking Wilkinsburg High School kids next year.billmurray wrote:http://www.westernpafootball.net/news/s ... districts/

This is very intrigueing. But for most small teams, the goal at the beginning of their season is shooting for a district title, because realistically, that's as far as they are going to achieve.Crimson's Ghost wrote:9 regular season games, eliminate districts, only play schools in your class, top 32 records make the state playoffs, make the bracket geographically correct once the field it set. 14 week season. It ain't over until it's over.

The 576 schools given earlier divide perfectly into 8 conferences of 12 for all six classes. Travel is a big issue especially for geographically isolated large schools like Altoona if forced to play within the conference. Or make the conference just for the playoffs and use a point system to determine which teams get in.
Although I don't understand the shortened regular season. You've expanded the playoff field just by adding classes.
