2017-2018 Classifications

Post by odoyelrules »

Somerset to AAA, I'd guess back to D6.

Westmont with coop largest AA squad.

Westmont isn't largest AA squad. Not even close there's at least 20 schools ahead of them. You need to recheck the numbers.

Mostly agree with you Digger, but something is up with PIAA figures...they list all schools in general numeric order and put W-H just below the smallest AAA squad, even though there are plenty of schools that should be listed above them. Anybody know PIAA's process there?

The list is not in any order.. Numerical or otherwise. Westmont just happens to be listed first for AA schools. Look at the list again and look at total numbers "with co-ops". Also compare host school numbers and co-op school numbers. Then look at the total. Some of the school's totals on the list don't add up

Looking at it further, the list is in a numerical order...all AAA first, with coops counting as 100% but that total # not appearing anywhere...then AA with coops counting 100% ie Westmont @ 388. No idea why PIAA would sort via that manner, but that looks like what they did.

This is the last time I'm posting to this thread, because this is a stupid freaking argument. But the list is NOT in numerical order and Westmont is NOT the biggest AA school. Also their total IS NOT 388 its 280. You absolutely have no clue about what you're looking at and definitely don't understand how to comprehend what you are looking at.

Calm down there cupcake.  Co-ops are counted at 50%.  Don't know why PIAA sorted it the way they did.  The solo program are in order, but for some reason the co-ops seem to be just thrown in randomly.

If you take out the co-op schools the list for AA and AAA are in numerical order. The co-op's are counted as 50% as Birda has stated but they placed them in order of their schools total enrollment, plus 100% of the co-op enrollment on the list, which is not the number they posted. They posted the number of enrollment plus 50% of the co-op.
Ex. Take school enrollment + 50% of co-op and you have your total. Why didn't they post the co-op schools in numerical order...computer program error?

Also NW AAA region - D4 - 3 schools, D5 - 1, D6 - 6, D8 - 4, D9 - 2, D10 - 6 = 22 natural AAA squads. How many AAs elect AAA this year? I asked a BEA insider if they planned on going AA this cycle, he said that it wouldn't surprise him.
