D6 A Boys Power Rankings - 1/2

Post by HSFootball88 »

Sorry for missing last week, but here is this week's rankings.
1. Bishop Guilfoyle LW:4 (2-0) - Was not expecting the strong start they showed with their two blow-out wins over Mo Valley and Cambria Heights. This team will be the team to beat. Although, they have a tough week with McCort, Forest Hills, and Central Cambria.
2. Homer Center LW:2 (9-0) - Since my last rankings they've picked up wins over LV, Tussey, and Richland and are rolling to start the season. They should ease into the new year with Northern Cambria this week, but I'll be looking forward to their games with PM and Saltsburg next week.
3. Saltsburg LW:1 (9-1) - Dropped a rematch with Apollo Ridge, but I don't know much about them. They are very balanced with juniors Nick Porter, Frank Plowman, and Dan Shirley all averaging double digits through their first 10 games.
4. Bishop Carroll LW:3 (6-2) - This team lost a close one to CC over the break, but have shown they can still compete after losing so many seniors from last years D6 championship team. They could pick up two wins over Cambria Heights and Forest Hills this week,
5. Ferndale LW:5 (7-2) - Like BC, they lost to CC, but have a tough week with a trip to Blacklick Valley (who they lost to last year) and Portage at home on Thursday which should be a great one.
6. Portage LW:6 (7-1) - Lost a very close one (45-42) at Shanksville before the break but turned around and won their Christmas Tournament with a victory over Penns Manor. They have a challenging week with CV, a trip to Ferndale, and Claysburg on the schedule.
7. Penns Manor LW:8 (5-3) - I think this team can battle with most of the teams above them as they showed vs. Portage last week. They should handle Blairsville and Purchase Line this week.
8. Moshannon Valley LW:7 (6-2) - I read in the Altoona Mirror that they lost a starter for the season, but they were soundly beat by BG last week. However, they should be able to turn things around by playoffs.
9. St. Joseph's LW:9 (4-4) - Dropped one to Juniata Valley at Huntigdon's tournament which makes this team even harder to figure out. They play BC on the 11th which might show a little more about them.
10. Juniata Valley LW:NR (2-6) - Bumped them in with their win over St. Joseph's since Conemaugh Valley can't seem to find a win. Although, outside of that game their results aren't very impressive.
