Re: Probable PIAA Playoff Brackets
D6 and d7 are the biggest districts by far in the state. Having both of them make it to semis make sense because of that. The top 2 teams from each of those districts are usually better than half of the other district champions
Re: Probable PIAA Playoff Brackets
hmmm, are they? Was MO Valley better than Berlin, Camp Hill, Old Forge, Farrell, and Kane? What you meant to say was when a Catholic school wins D6, they're normally better than the other district champs. Supporting evidence with BM, BC, and BG all making it to the state finals. Other than that are the other D-6 teams better than all the other district champs?konjo78 wrote:D6 and d7 are the biggest districts by far in the state. My biggest point is if it's one game and your in, it's not really playoffs. It's a play-in game. It's one less game that a D-6 team has to win

Here we go folks. Cry baby hank is at it again.
Last year was one of the few where other districts stepped up. But i also said half not all..... stupid people dont like to read a full sentence they just try and talk crazy.
All i was stating is they are the 2 biggest districts and id say the top 2 in those districts are easily top 8 worthy. More than some district winners

Hank should be happy d7 gets a chance to be in semis routinely. Yes berlin won a fluke game this playoff season but most years d7 would just get pounded in quarters by d5

Re: Probable PIAA Playoff Brackets
does it really matter where any team enters the state playoffs or what matchups happen first? I mean really? Eventually, you have to beat the team that beat the team to get to the title game anyway right?
Re: Probable PIAA Playoff Brackets
Overly Opinionated Kenny is at it again.
I would say that it's true for D-7 usually, but not as much with D6.
Year Champion Runner-up Score
2015 Bishop Guilfoyle (6) Farrell (10) 35-0
2014 Bishop Guilfoyle (6) Clairton (7) 19-18
2013 North Catholic (7) Old Forge (2) 15-14 OT
2012 Clairton (7) Dunmore (2) 20-0
2011 Clairton (7) Southern Columbia (4) 35-19
2010 Clairton (7) Riverside (2) 36-30
2009 Clairton (7) Bishop McCort (6) 15-3
2008 Steelton-Highspire (3) Clairton (7) 35-16
2007 Steelton-Highspire (3) Serra Catholic (7) 34-15
2006 Southern Columbia (4) West Middlesex (10) 56-14
2005 Southern Columbia (4) Duquesne (7) 50-19
2004 Southern Columbia (4) Rochester (7) 35-0
2003 Southern Columbia (4) Bishop Carroll (6) 49-20
2002 Southern Columbia (4) Rochester Area (7) 31-6
2001 Rochester (7) Southern Columbia (4) 16-0
2000 Rochester (7) Southern Columbia (4) 22-14
1999 South Side (7) Southern Columbia (4) 27-21
1998 Rochester (7) Southern Columbia (4) 18-0
1997 Sharpsville (10) Riverside (2) 10-7
1996 Farrell (7) Southern Columbia (4) 14-12
1995 Farrell (7) Southern Columbia (4) 6-0
1994 Southern Columbia (4) Western Beaver (7) 49-6
1993 Duquesne (7) South Williamsport (4) 24-21
1992 Scotland School (3) Smethport Area (9) 24-7
1991 Schuylkill Haven (11) Rochester Area (7) 28-18
1990 Marian Catholic (11) Farrell (7) 21-13
1989 Dunmore (2) Keystone (9) 57-18
1988 Camp Hill (3) Cambridge Springs (10) 18-7
As shown above in this list, districts 2,3, and 4 are usually better than D6. (except for the Catholic schools as I stated)
D7 dominates 5, 9, and 10 consistently, so they make a little more sense.
Konjo, I argue with you most of the time because you lump District 6 on the backs of the private schools.
Bill, on the west side D7 normally beats the 5, 9, and 10 so there's not much lost with this, but on the other side of the bracket D6 and D3 have great games same as D2 and D4. One of these games is going to be no more

Re: Probable PIAA Playoff Brackets
Hank, are you saying that you know that Berlin will request to move up to AA? Because, unless the 9-Page list on the PIAA website isn't updated, Berlin is shown as A. The only A school shown on there, as having moved up in Classification, is Aliquippa. And, they moved all the way up to AAA (the smallest AAA school on the list).12HankQB wrote:Berlin will be AA, which I feel better about than running a gauntlet in A

Re: Probable PIAA Playoff Brackets
I was under the impression that we were already moving up to AA because of our co-op with Rockwood.

Re: Probable PIAA Playoff Brackets
It appears that the list was posted on Nov. 23rd, so maybe it isn't entirely accurate. Shows BB School Enrollment 100, Co-op Enrollment 100, and Total Calc. Enrollment, still 100.
