195# at SW Regional

Post by bcor »

I'm interested to hear details of 195# from SW Regional ...

In the SemiFinal, Fisher from Huntingdon beat Buttry from Chestnut Ridge 6-3 in OT ... anyone see the match live at C-Mac and can provide a report?

Given that Fisher lost to Green (West Branch) at D6 final, and only lost Bowlen (J-M) 1-0 in regional final, it's seems clear to me that all 4 of the 195# semi-finalist are very, very close in ability ... will be fun/interesting to see how they fare at Hershey!

I wasn't there to see it live but I did follow the match updates and it seemed like Buttry just couldn't get out from underneath Fisher. If they had riding time in HS I would think it would have been significantly in favor of Fisher. I believe Buttry will be able to adjust if they meet again.

Yes, FloArena has this for the scoring ...

Bout 297 - Semi-Finals
Mat 1
LOGAN FISHER WINS BY DEC 6-3 TB2
4 LoganFisherHuntingdon v 1 ConnerButtry Chestnut Ridge
6-3
PERIOD 1
Fisher: 0:39 Takedown 2
Buttry: 2 Reversal 0:04
PERIOD 2 CHOSE BOTTOM
Fisher: 0:53 Stalling
Fisher: 2:00 Caution
CHOSE BOTTOM PERIOD 3
Fisher: 1:54 Escape 1
Fisher: 0:48 Stalling (1 pt for Buttry)
PERIOD SV
PERIOD TB1 CHOSE BOTTOM
CHOSE BOTTOM PERIOD TB2
Fisher: 0:27 Escape 1
Fisher: 0:05 Takedown 2
Buttry: Caution 0:05

... so I image Buttry made a desparate move to try to get final takedown and got taken down himself ... not a problem.

You gotta figure Buttry doesn't have much experience escaping ... hope he can figure that out fast ...

That is accurate. Kid put legs in and buttry had no answer.
Won't make that mistake again next week I don't believe

Yeah I would say Buttry will be better prepared but as for that match, I still can't believe the D5 ref called 2 stalls on Fisher. Both wrestlers work hard that whole match.

Buttry had a similar problem with Reynolds I think from Greenville at Ultimate Duals, who he might meet his second match in Hershey....
