Oh? How so? I guess I was only looking at it from the Johnstown-area teams normally being in the South as they are part of the southern end of Cambria County. Yes, this will stop global warming. When I call you an idiot, do you sit in your game room and sulk all day? or do you just blow it off, say Hank's just being Hank and live your life? I'm just saying our country needs to lighten up a bit and let the tensions drop...before we self-destruct. Everyone else already hates us, we can't be hating each other.
(FYI Penns Manor had a great showing at the Lantzy. Good job to them)

Except all of Bedford County went to the North team, but you were correct all Southern Cambria was on South.dougkeklak wrote:Oh? How so? Re: Ken Lantzy
I just think people take lantzy too seriously. Should just be a fun time for players and coaching attending. No need for more than that. I remember traveling back east to watch my friends play in 2010.
Everyone was looking to just have a good time and party. Hell it rained so hard the game almost got canceled. Sure there is politics invovled but lets just enjoy celebrating the honor for the players

I think they're just taking the team names too seriously. It's definitely a fun week. You get to see that kids you've hated your whole high school career....really are just like you. Great to play with them instead of against them. Plus all you can eat rigatoni for a week.konjo78 wrote:I just think people take lantzy too seriously. A kid my daughter dated when they were in high school played in it (as I was talking to her last night I come to find out he's currently a pediatrician in New Hampshire btw) said he had an absolute blast playing in it. He found out that some of the guys he, "hated" became friends with as Hank eluded to. I can remember going to his graduation party a few weeks after and seeing kids from all different schools there.

Re: Ken Lantzy
This is precisely why I scoffed at the need for "competitive balance" in the Lantzy Game. Everything has to be "fair" anymore. I'm sorry but competition and winning should not be at the forefront of something like this game. It's an exhibition about and for the kids. I mean, you should always coach kids up to do their best and represent their school well but this game is about a LOT more than that. That is why I felt the old way wasn't broke and hence didn't need fixing.konjo78 wrote:I just think people take lantzy too seriously. Should just be a fun time for players and coaching attending. Not so. If you look at a map, the FH district is comprised of the entire southeast quadrant of Cambria County, and they were on the 'designated' North squad.12HankQB wrote:Except all of Bedford County went to the North team, but you were correct all Southern Cambria was on South.dougkeklak wrote:Oh? The southwest corner was South. So yes correct. There is a clear divide
