What if Alex Hoenstine transferred to BG
Re: What if Alex Hoenstine transferred to BG
I saw Benton's parents at the 7on7's at Con Township this past Saturday in McCort gear but I did not get to watch Mccort play so I don't know if Elijah played for them.

Yeah he played in SFU 7v7 with McCort and then 2 weeks later played at NBC with us. Tough decision for the kid. Wish him the best either way.

Question How can Benton play for both Teams? Did he enroll at Bishop McCort? He's been working out with Bishop McCort Football Team in their Summer Program.

Some rules do not apply. How many times do we have to say it.
It ain't over until it's over.

Summer 7 on 7's aren't really sanctioned or anything. Just some kids running routes in shorts and helmets.

It was probably a good try out. And no surprise a catholic school is the one doing it. #RecruitingSeason

Re: What if Alex Hoenstine transferred to BG
I mean his Dad is the wrestling coach at Bishop McCort now and the family lives in the Westmont School District, and not the Central Martinsburg School District. Hard to really call that a recruiting thing, but some people aren't really mindful of an entire situation, and I understand that. I'm sure it's just a family trying to sort out the logistics of what to do. Roaring Spring is roughly an hour from Westmont.
So what would be the protocol there? Since his dad is still a teacher at Central, he can go there for free? Or would he have to pay tuition at Central? Or move in with a friend or relative?

Re: What if Alex Hoenstine transferred to BG
I'm pretty sure each school is different. I know of a middle school teacher who lives in one district, but teaches in another. His daughter goes to the school he teaches at for free because he is a full time employee of the district. I don't know if this is true across the board for schools, but I have heard of it.
Also, let us all remember; this young man (presumably 15-17 years old) will be reading this forum. He will see what some of you write about him, his decision making, and his family. Let's all be mindful of that. This is a HS kid, not college or pro.
