I don't think that anything is happening with 3 classes, but I don't know.

There was a push to get rid of NW AAA region, D8 & D10 to D7/SW region, D4 & D6 (with D5 Somerset) & D9 to NE region, but I don't think that went anywhere. With the 6 NW districts losing out, I think that proposal has steep odds to ever pass.

I think some reduction in number of AAA teams that qualify for states is in the works also.

Ranking the regional champions passed and will be implemented for a year.
Despite support for 16 man bracket from the executive director, the board decided to stay @ 20.

D5 apparently concerned about losing 3rd qualifier for regionals due to drop to 10 squads...I don't see that happening though.  For years D9AAA had 3 qualifiers for 5 schools, while now they have 4 qualifiers for D4/9's total 7 squads.  Also D1 AA has 9 squads, 3 regional qualifiers...I'd think that as long as D5 had 5 schools and their own tournament that they'd have 3 regional qualifiers.
As of earlier in August the regional location has still not been determined.
20 person state qualifier setup appears likely to be in its final year...my guess is a return to 16, with same setup as before the 20 qualifier system started.
