Super Bowl - Directv Technical Difficulties

Post by BlueYonder »

With 2:30 minutes left in the game tonight, I lost a consistent signal on Directv on Channel 53.  The signal came in and out every couple of seconds. I was unable to see a single play from that point on.   In fact - most of the time when there was a signal for a few seconds - it was between plays.  It happened on no other channel on Directv, but it happened on both of my TVs which have different receivers.  Some friends indicated they had the same issue.  That is not a coincidence.  I don't know what happened but I am guessing it was intentional (by somebody).

Saw the game in cable. Didn't miss a second. Wonder what happened?

This article indicates that there was an issue in certain markets for Directv including Pittsburgh, Tucson, and Phoenix.  At least it was not a national issue.

The Penguins were the only team out of every major sport not to blow a lead in the big time!!

My DirecTV, in Cambria County, was fine. I saw the entire thing, miserable ending and all.
However, a friend of mine, watching on DirecTV near New Stanton, missed the OT. He had sound, but the picture spit and sputtered until the game ended, and Boom, the picture came back.

As someone that dislikes NE, Brady, and Belicheat, I did find a silver lining to the cloud....
I'm glad I'm not a Falcons fan.....wow....a 25 pt lead midway thru the 3rd....ouch! THAT is gonna sting for years.
