What else can go wrong for the Pirates?

Post by dadw/2sons »

With the news of Taillon (sp) having cancer and everything else going on with Marte and Kang (sp) can it get any worse?  Also getting belted in the first inning 6-0 and counting. At least I don't have to worry about staying up late tonight.

Sure it's bad news for the Pirates, but the guy's life is on the line. It's a bit more than just "another thing wrong for the Pirates." Hopefully he is alright.

I obviously feel the same way for him and his life. I was commenting on it from a sports point of view since this is a sports board. I am sorry for sounding inconsiderate. That wasn't my intent.

I have known a couple of gentlemen in my life who have had testicular cancer. It is one of the few, if you can say this, that is the kind to have? It's usually caught early, and except for the stigma of losing a "part of manhood", is very survivable. It's one of the things we have two of, and able to fully enjoy life with just one. You can also father offspring with only one, just like nothing ever happened. Recovery is pretty rapid too, so don't blame the team's demise on losing Taillon for a little while. I do believe their big picture, with the other losses of personnel, will leave them pretty much where they're at the remainder of the season. Good luck, Jamison Taillon.
It ain't over until it's over.

According to the Tribune Review who interviewed a cancer doctor, this could sideline him for as little as three to four weeks if he does not require chemotherapy.
