Gouse - 200 wins

Post by youngbuck »

200 wins at Portage.
He has been the coach for 26 years.  Seems to be loved by team and community.
Made playoffs 24 times.
7 conference titles.   3 undefeated seasons.
0 district championships.

Just for winning 200 at one school I'd have to give him top 5

Deserves lots of credit for establishing a positive culture and model of consistency.  In the grand scheme of things though, coaches a team that plays in an incredibly weak conference.  0 district titles, nothing concrete to show for all those wins.

In his defense D6 A is probably one of the hardest districts to win in the state any classification.

True but other coaches have been able to do it with top teams, and his tenure is older than modern day domination

It seems like every time he has a "top" team there are 3 other teams that are just as talented
