I was pleased with what I saw at Tyrone scrimmage. Looked more composed and together as a team than last year. Just typical scrimmage done dropped passes some penalties. You know boring stuff. Still work to do but overall I was pleased. Where is dragon figured we would here Centrals scrimmage by now.

How did Carmichael look? Is he the next Shamar Jones?CoffinCorner wrote:Johnstown is really small at all specialist positions. They had 16 coaches standing behind the offense. Barber looks promising. Wr #11 should be solid. Poor running game, heavy screen game. Defensively they are athletic , fast but small, shut down somerset and FH running game. Picked off Cecere. But gave up the deep ball because no one knew who to cover
Re: Scrimmages?
I was at the Portage / TM scrimmage and TM looked improved. Or was Portage missing some people ? I seen they were ranked early but not sure of any new rankings. Any comments from Portage fans ?
Re: Scrimmages?
From an outsider, Portage lost some good players from last year. Wiggins, Randazzo, McCabe, etc. Seniors were the bulk of the offense. They have Connor Price back after a good Sophmore season at QB. Expect good things from him. Portage is a team that usually reloads every year. They will have a big line as normal so the biggest issue is skill positions and who will take over carrying the load. Usually their offensive line with the Wing-T is enough to over power a lot of schools. Should be an interesting year in the WestPAC. Not sure there's a clear favorite. That Shade offense is intriguing.

Re: Scrimmages?
That's interesting Hank because TM's line played well and the varsity offense scored a few times and only gave up 1 TD on defense on a long run. Any Portage fans at the scrimmage to chime in ?

No, but no. Not with St. Joes cancelling their season. Maybe will have a shot against P-O. The MAC isn't much easier than the LHACSafetyblitz wrote:Anyone attend BC-HC scrimmage? If so will BC be competitive this year in there new conference?

Re: Scrimmages?
I'll agree that they showed some promise. The defense looked good throughout the scrimmage i thought. The offense still has a ways to go, like you said penalties, turnovers, mistakes. Also saw some issues in the center of the line, I guess time will tell if that's a fault on our side of the ball, or some good D line play from Mifflin County. Its always hard to judge how good they were, are they Indian Valley kids or Lewistown kidsGoldeneagles12 wrote:I was pleased with what I saw at Tyrone scrimmage.
