Idiotic steeler fans calling for Tomlin to be fired

Post by konjo78 »

Ive seen Tomlin trending on twitter and it looks like once again we have low IQ steeler fans out there demanding he be fired as head coach because last nights playoff game.

Anyone who understands football just a smudge would of seen all year that the steelers roster this year was really bad. Basically a brand new oline, middling WR group and a one year too long QB in ben. The offense was so bad it basically meant the defense had to play more snaps than any other defense all year. Despite this Tomlin's coaching somehow got 9 wins and a playoff appearance. If anything after this year pittsburgh should be giving him a lifetime contract, not fire him.

These fans make Steeler fans look incredibly stupid and annoying

Steelers fans have got to some of the most ignorant but loud groups in sports. I went to the home Baltimore game this year and some guy kept yelling to fire Tomlin despite the Steelers clearly making far better adjustments as the game progressed.

The other part is who do they think is better and will successfully replace him? Tomlin never had a losing season and has one of the top winning percentages. Parity rules also makes it exceedingly difficult to build and maintain a Super Bowl level team. Pittsburgh is really lucky the Rooney's don't give a dang about placating those morons.

Yep, that's right fire the guy that kept them composed despite playing terribly. They outplayed everyone in the second half of their games, when he was able to meet with the coordinators and rework the game plan, no coach was better at that this year. People out there complain because the team seemed unmotivated, but they are professional athletes, they do not respond to cheerleaders and players from other teams have even said as much that they do not want a cheerleader in the locker room.
Being a season ticket holder for the Steelers, I can tell you about a thousand examples that would prove how little some fans know about football or even the team they root for. They really do not know what they are looking at when they watch the game.
Bad calls, questionable decisions stand out, but the constant thing, and really the thing that truly wins is winning, and Mike Tomlin has done that, even with inferior talent on the field. They lost 2/3rds of their starting d-line, had their backup olb demand a trade, a first round pick MLB who seemingly forgot how to play the position while injured for a year, as econdary was constantly changing because of Covid and injuries and yet the defense still played lights out at times. Did they have their struggles? Yes, but with the constant changing of the line-up that is to be expected. Then there was the offense that had two rookies starting on the line, one of whom was forced to play out of position all season because of no other options, and a bunch of no-names along with them. Then the "Star" receiver gets hurt, and the next two guys in line were 1) a guy with dropsee syndrome and 2) a guy that really had to grow up and still did not learn his routes all season long. The veteran gun slinger who could not throw like he could before injuring his elbow said as much.
The only bright spot was the rookie class and how well they performed, even though I for one would have rather seen the likes of Creed Humphries drafted to play center instead, the pick of Harris still worked.
The only reason that team made the playoffs or were even competitive was the coaching, there is no other reason I can think of. TJ Watt was great, but they were able to devise schemes to get him freed up in critical situations to rush one on one, that is the product of coaching, nothing else.

A little trivia....
Over the last 11 yrs, Tomlins playoff record is 3-7.
Bill Cowher had 9 assistant coaches that moved on to be NFL head coaches.
Mike Tomlin had assistant coaches that moved on.
