HYNDMAN, Pa. — Five Hyndman youths were hospitalized Thursday afternoon after their vehicle traveled out of control and struck a tree before overturning on an embankment of Little Wills Creek.
The driver, Marcus McKinley Phennicle, 17, was flown to Cumberland Memorial Hospital following the 3:25 p.m. accident.
Passengers Thomas Winnfield Johnson, 16, and Levi James Holler, 16, were each taken to Bedford Memorial Hospital while Darren Johnson, 15, and Brooks Emerick, 16, were each flown to Conemaugh Hospital in Johnstown for treatment of head trauma.
No hospital information was available on any of the patients.
Pennsylvania State Police at Bedford reported the accident occurred on Sheirer Road (Township Route 631) near state Route 96 when Phennicle’s 1990 Ford Festiva traveled over a hump or old railroad bed in the roadway.
The vehicle became airborne and landed back on the roadway before it traveled out of control, sideways off the south edge of the road. The passenger side of the car struck a tree, the car became airborne again, rolled onto its roof and came to rest on the north embankment of Little Wills Creek.

I only know one of 'em, but they will all definately be in my prayers. Their families and friends will also be in my prayers. I'm hoping they start feeling better and get back to being healthy.
