ok what has rod done
First, YOUNGEST HEAD COACH IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY at salem.
Next, undefeated season at tulane as oc
Next, oc at clemson that beat fsu his first year
Next, one of the youngest heading coaches in D1 history
so if you think that isnt enough then your a fool.
Next, for your post about the big ten granted we dont have a good record against big ten teams, but we only play one mac or conference usa team a year. And heres a point you know the offense that BIG TEN power houses well you would say they are, Northwester and Purdue, does that offense look familair maybe because Rod showed Tiller and Northwestern coach how to run the spread. So you need to do some research before you start spatting off on a internet site. I know everyone is a bleacher coach but dont be so narrow minded.
PSU fans i dont mean to strike a nerve here but we played for the national title more recently that psu has, but thats a side point because i know people are gonna be like the 94 team well they were un beated and un rewarded please your beating a dead horse.

The 94 team is realistic to argue....two undefeateds didn't get to play.
The BCS title game stuff, we can go to conferences now because the Big East isn't nearly the same without VT and Miami in it. If there are two undefeateds this year and one is WVU, I don't think they will play for it all. If a Miami or Oklahoma or USC, etc has 1 close loss they would go ahead of WVU in my opinion.
RichRod...I LOVE HIM AS A HEAD COACH. I would have a tough time playing for him since I've heard he is a total psycho, but I love his intense style. He has done tons to earn my respect already. WVU was going downhill and he turned them back around. The story sounds similar to the one in State College. The "old" coach isn't getting it done now, so bring in someone new and good things can happen. I am one of the guys that would like to see Joe coach another 10 years. He has forgotten more about the game than ANY of us will probably ever know.
Comparing programs as in PROGRAM PRESTIGE as the PS2 would put it...is not comparable in my opinion. PSU is up there with the top 10 nationally overall in my view. WVU is probably around 40th or so...That is being realistic over a long period of time....CONTINUOUS GREAT TEAMS is what is needed to get there. Yes, I would also put Notre Dame up there. It would be FSU, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Miami, Penn State, and then two other teams as my top 10. Florida was a laughable team (I learned that on some ESPN program about Spurrier...they were terrible I guess), but now they are very good year in and year out.
PSU has WVU in prestige FOR SURE, BUT WVU is comparable right now. The question is....Will the prestige continue? A few bad years didn't kill it, BUT a few more could really put a dent in things. If WVU becomes a CONSTANT 8 to 9 win team for the next 5-8 years they may become the Big East powerhouse. I think the prestige will continue as this year's recruiting class shows. Program prestige counts for something, like it or not.

Bashing the Big East title as a leftover is the type of comment that sets me off as a fan. It is that nose in the air that ticks off these WVU guys...
The Big East was pretty dang good. They won't be as good, BUT watch what South Florida becomes. They are the team I think will become extremely good because of recent events. So say a kid doesn't go to FSU or Miami or Florida and is from Florida (one of the best states for athletes in the US)....South Florida is now a place to go and have a shot at a BCS game. They can play in one of the "power conferences" that gets to go to the BCS. They can be on national television. The Big East will be down and isn't elite after Miami and Va Tech left, but it will be strong again. UConn and South Florida and these otehr schools will get better recruits now because playing in a better conference with more meaning to it will bring the kids.

Im not saying the Big East is the best conference in college football and in none of my posts i did. I just think its hilarious when FROSTLION comes on her and acts hard. The guy probally doesnt even know what a bubble screen is? But the people in the BCS must think think the Big East is good because we have our automatic bid still.

I'm saying some of Nehlen's later teams weren't as good. WVU was becoming a program that would win 4-6 games, and I think Rod will have them out of that mold, becoming a consisten 6+ win program.

Rod took over a great team coach 9wins and had the whole d coming back, avon, lewis, and basically the receiving core. The oline needed rebuilt and we didnt win 3 wins. Coach if we keep gettin players its gonna be more like 8 wins a year i think. Maryland, Tech, Pitt will be our tough games, and we play Mississippi State in a few years so their program could be back.
