District 5 and Bedford County in particular need an All star game. Any kind of game. Just a game. Most college scouts go to All Star games to get a good look at players. I had the oppurtunity to play for a D-1 school but couldn't get scouted b/c we didn't play any All Star games. The coach told me that they only scout All Star games for scheduling reasons and go to them almost every weekend of the Fall/Early Winter. Summer leagues happen too late and indoor leagues aren't the same as a wide open field.

On that note, it would be nice if it were a game that would be more evenly matched like D-6A/AA vs. D-5, but we just need to get a game for these kids.

how bout for the bedford county all star game you take the team in the county that did the best (won the county cup points) and match them against the allstars from the other 4 schools....kinda like the "America vs the world" all star games that you see in hockey...it could work...

I agree, an all star game in Bedford County would be enjoyable for fans and players. It would not attract mucn interest from many college coaches due to the level of play in this area. Not knocking any players in the area, b/c i was one just a few years ago but a major college isn't going to waste their time here. I played on a Classic Travel team that went to tournaments that were invitation only... thats where the scouts will be.

I know 4him and Gunner would be up for this... how about some sort of alumni game... not sure on any specifics but i think it would be lots of fun.

Definitely...and if you are ever playing one or even playing a pick up game, let me know.

I'm always up for alumni games. I love showing those younger kids that we do know what we're talking about. This wouldn't be hard to organize, if people are serious - let me know.
