Carson Palmer right now is making a lot of rookie mistakes, and for all practical purposes, he is a rookie.
In college, many quarterbacks only play one or two years as starter because of the guy before them. I believe that is also what happened with Carson Palmer.

Uh, no, that's not the case with Palmer.

As far as "rookie mistakes", other guys get bashed while Palmer is free from criticism. Reeeeeediculous.

I'm not saying he's free from criticism, I'm saying that this is his first year as a starter, and he's playing like it. Many people around here are calling for Jon Kitna to start, and that does give them a better chance of winning for this season. But if they're intent on paying Carson Palmer so much money, they may as well leave him out there for a season or two and see when he starts producing. After all, benching him isn't making him any better, and with the money he's being paid, you really have no choice. So yeah, it is about the money, and that's why he's still playing. But I think he might be a future Drew Brees.

I just don't like how other rookies make mistakes and get scrutinized for it, while Palmer gets none of that. Why everyone is so high on him, I have no idea. This kid did nothing for 3 and a half years of his college career, had a good 4-5 games and somehow won the Heisman Trophy. Then on Monday night a few weeks back, those announcers were saying "Oh look how good Carson Palmer is, this is his coming out party". What did he do the next week? Played like crap again and fumbled away the game. Yeah, what a coming out party. Like I said... Aikman said it best: People play based on money, not on talent. And the Cincinnati Bengals continue to get very high draft picks every season and what becomes of them?

I like Adrian Peterson also...But my spiel with him is that he wont get the heisman just for the basic fact that he is a freshman..TRUE freshman...There is though always that little chance of him gettin it ...But he needs an outstanding season ( like the one he is on the verge of now ).. He HAS proved he is 1 of the most elusive and agile backs in not only the BIG 12 but the Nation... Oklahoma can win without him but not get as many pts or yds as he produces... The change of direction and agility the young man gets will be top 5 heisman this year and next year and maybe even a 2 time heisman trophy winner..
*** I said this year and next year because probably after next year he will go Pro and be a big flop...But ya get my drift

If you wanna talk yards and points produced by a back why are we not talking about Cedric Benson? He is THE REASON Texas is even worth looking at this year. He doensnt have a decent qb, or a great line (like Peterson does at OU), and yet still racks up the yards like he's pullin in mad dollars at a casino.

Also note, Michael Vick was 30000000 times the freshman Peterson is, and he only got 3rd his freshman season.
