respect for wrestlers
respect for wrestlers
ok im a girl and ive been going to my school's wrestling practices and its tuff. no one really ever talked about what goes on at practice to me before i just thought of it all as a big mystery them being downstairs lol. i love it though and wanna stick with it. but i just wanna say how much respect i have for wrestlers now. you all have to love it so much to go through the losing weight and practices.
Re: respect for wrestlers
Hey Shadow - I have great respect for YOU - having the courage to follow through with something you were interested in....and not letting hesitation or fear hold you back! You go girl!

I have wrestled from kindergarten through college and I can assure you that it is the toughest thing that I have ever experienced. It compares to no other sport. However, what I have found out from my experiences is that people who wrestle (at least for a couple of years and are successful at it) usually become better people through discipline. Being a wrestler results in a better worker, better parent, better citizen, and a better all around person. I will leave by quoting Dan Gable, "Once you have wrestled everthing else in life will be easy."
Re: respect for wrestlers
I know a guy who went to boot camp after his junior year of highschool and he said it was nothing compared to wrestling practice.

Wrestlers" The best kind of people in the world. The cockiest, dirtiest, most irresponisble group of athletes in the universe. Will get with any broad and come back and tell all his buddies about it. Will booze at least 2 times a week and pretend they are still dedicated. Not afraid to live the dream untill they are 35 then realize they never made it anywhere. Ladies Love us. Guys want to be us. We are the soul of the universe.

Re: respect for wrestlers
We have a girl on our Varsity team and she works just as hard as everyone else on the team (and harder than some). She is a very competitive, no excuses type of lady. I have a great deal of respect for her and wish her all the luck. She has told me that she would like to wrestle in college. Keep up the great work, Kaylyn!!!

I know some wrestlers, and i would be in class, and the would be in a plastic bag jumping around trying to loose weight to make it. It tough stuff, of course, if the would eat better, they wouldnt have that much of a problem. But still they things they go through are crazy. Mad props to them for doing that stuff.
